“Oh I can’t keep it in; I can’t keep it in, I’ve gotta let it out I’ve got to show the world; world’s got to see, See all the love; love that’s in me.~ CAT STEVENS

Dear Readers, Community, Friends,

350px-sky-bird-fly-treesThis Morning, by Mary Oliver

This morning the redbird’s eggs

have hatched and already the chicks

are chirping for food. They don’t

know where it’s coming from, they

just keep shouting, “More! More!”

As to anything else, they haven’t

had a single thought. Their eyes

haven’t yet opened, they know nothing

about the sky that’s waiting. Or

the thousands, the millions of trees.

They don’t even know they have wings.

And just like that, like a simple

neighborhood event, a miracle is

taking place.

Happy Poetry Month

(a couple days past, I know, but let’s let spring linger a bit more)

master of changeOUR LITTLE VIRTUAL BOOK CLUB

How is everyone enjoying Brad Stulberg’s, Master of Change?

It seems like such a simple concept, but I have found myself revisiting portions of Part 1 to allow it to really sink in. A reader sent me this insight on what they are learning:

“A great reminder that the only constant is change and the more we fight against that the more suffering we create for ourselves. We cannot grow if we return to where we started (like the example of homeostasis X to Y to X) but only if we adapt via allostasis (X to Y to Z). I loved the idea that stability only comes with change and adaption to circumstances. Resilience is only built through this, not returning to pre-challenge versions of our selves. Change happens with us, but we often see it as something that happens to us. Having is not being as when you lose what you had you still persist.”  ~ Charlotte

For May, let’s read PART 2: “Rugged and Flexible Identity.” If anything strikes you to share, let me know and I’ll share it with the group!

THE TRUST FACTOR: UNLOCKING WORKPLACE SUCCESS THROUGH HR-EMPLOYEE ALIGNMENT

Trust is the bedrock of any successful, productive workplace. When employees trust their HR team and the organization’s leadership, it significantly enhances their performance, happiness, and tenure within the company. Trust has a powerful impact on employee engagement, motivation, and productivity. When employees have confidence in their HR and leadership, they feel secure taking risks, sharing their vulnerabilities, and going above and beyond—knowing their efforts will be recognized and rewarded.

HOW TO (FINALLY!) MASTER THE ART OF NETWORKING

No one is born with networking skills, and many struggle with at least one part of the process. Maybe you have trouble reaching out, or you connect well but then can’t keep in touch. Maybe you are constantly making connections with little value, or you lack confidence in your ability to grow your network from a few professional contacts.

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. There are many techniques you can use to master networking once and for all.

Greetings!

Last Thursday, we were pleased to both attend and sponsor WCI’s HR Forum in Morganton. There was such a great turnout for a day full of informative and impactful sessions.

My family and I are looking forward to our annual spring LEAF Retreat, May 9-12. It will be great to spend a weekend outdoors!

Warm regards,

Michael
