HELPING THE WORLD THROUGH ART.
Spend 5 minutes with River Arts District creator, Andrea Kulish, and you’ll feel like the sun is following you for the rest of the day. Her heart is as colorful as her clothes, and all of this pours out into her art: Pysanky eggs, a Ukrainian tradition, as old as its people.
Pysanky eggs are decorated with traditional, folk designs using a wax-resist method. Each symbol as well as color holds symbolic meaning – that of good will, strength, renewal, prosperity, etc.

Until she was three, Andrea spoke only Ukrainian. It has been her life’s joy and purpose to carry on their art, songs, food, and language, celebrating and preserving this way of life.
“I am a first generation Ukrainian American. Every egg I make is a link to my parents, grandparents, all my ancestors, everyone in Ukraine, and Ukraine herself. Ukraine is so dear and beloved to me, so as an artist and a shop owner, this is the way I can help.”
With her ties to Ukrainian National Womens League of America and her husband’s music community, Musicians for the Greater Good, a great humanitarian wheel has been set in motion [100% benefitting Ukraine].
Her little shop in the River Arts District has been flooded with donations of Pysanky eggs from her students (Andrea could not keep up with the demand for eggs on her own), as well as beautiful necklaces, candle sticks, prayer beads, and more (all made in Ukraine). Folks can buy and wear Ukrainian art, knowing 100% of what they spend goes to the help Ukrainian people in this devastating time.
