“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” ~ THE LITTLE PRINCE
Dear Readers, Community, Friends,
How does your inner compass guide you?
In the quiet moments of the day, what speaks to you? If we were to meet at the source of all things, where would this be: learning? love? adventure? connection? ... possibility?
At your source, can you feel the tension, the paradox between all that is and all that seems to be? How do you discern what is real?
As I age, I find power in reflection. With hindsight, I see how choices, maybe also fate, and underneath it all – how perspective, has guided transformation. The moments where I took the biggest risks to be curious, present and really feel, were when life showed me its greatest beauty.
Here is an inspiring TED Talk about emotional agility by Harvard Medical School psychologist, Dr. Susan David.
In her talk, she states, “The radical acceptance of all of our emotions (even the messy, difficult ones) is the cornerstone to resilience, thriving, and true, authentic happiness. We own our emotions. They don’t own us. When we internalize the difference between how I feel in all my wisdom, and what I do in a values-aligned action, we generate the pathway to our best selves.”
SOUND FAMILIAR?
These themes rang true through chapters 10-12 in our virtual book club book, Psycho Cybernetics, where we learned how to create our world from within to express our truest selves to the world around us. I love how the theme of RELAXING keeps coming up as a tool – feels so much better than trying to force transformation.
This month we will be heading into the final chapters (13-15). Exciting!
So get out there and share your beautiful selves with the world – it’s what the world needs now.
