“You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore.” ~ WILLIAM FAULKNER
Dear Readers, Community, Friends,
Are you flowing with the current, or against it, or ...?
... do you stand in the river, dig your feet in the sand and try with all your might to stand against the current? Often, I catch myself trying to maintain a state of homeostasis, only later to realize the missed opportunity of letting go and seeing where the current of life takes us. Sometimes the outcome is much better than one I could have orchestrated.
Water has a mind all its own. It will inevitably find the path of least resistance.
It intrigued me, then, when Michael told me about a book by local author Brad Stulberg, Master of Change, in which Brad explains his central goal is to offer “a comprehensive framework to thrive amidst change and disorder.” A state he has coined “rugged flexibility.”
I love this concept, and think it could be a powerful way of being. I’d like to invite you to join me in reading this for our next Virtual Book Club.
For this month, let’s read PART 1: “Rugged & Flexible Mindset”
“Embracing life’s fluidity can be empowering.” ~ BRAD STULBERG
