After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, Michael Murphy, President & CEO of Platinum Group worked in a variety of public and private accounting firms. But it was inevitable he’d start a company of his own, as he grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. In 2000, he founded Platinum Group, a small accounting firm offering bookkeeping, tax, human capital management (HCM), payroll and accounting services, for local Asheville businesses.
